Design for Play

Design for Play was a unique week long workshop, focused at inspiring creativity and design thinking through the idea of play. The sessions transitioned from simple paper folding and origami to building 3D structures and then experimenting with various mechanical contraptions. The format of this course was not instructional. The students had the liberty to experiment with any material from the treasure cove which included supplies like origami paper, cardboard, foam, plastic plates, cups and cutlery, elastic bands, popsicle sticks, marbles, magnets, wires and many, many more materials.

The outcome was a simulated arcade space lined up with creative analogue games. The last day involved families engaging with the games and brought the core idea behind this workshop to fruition.
